SPIDER MITES
Extremely small in size, typically no larger than ½ millimeter in diameter. Adults have 8 legs, larvae have only 6. They vary in color, brownish yellow, red, black or green.
Host Plants: Arborvitae, Pine, Spruce, Viburnum, Yews and Boxwoods.
Damage: They can cause small spots on the needles and heavy infestations can cause the needles to turn pale green to yellow and drop. In some cases, the underside of needles may appear dusty from the empty egg casings and molting skins. Severe infestations can cause death.
